Upward Basketball
The Purpose: We want children to…
Learn fundamental basketball. Our coaches and referees have been trained to teach basic skills to children new to basketball and work to improve the skills of experienced children.
Build character. Sportsmanship and encouragement are both taught and modeled. Each week the team learns a Bible verse at practice.
Learn about God’s love for them and their relationship with Him.
Have FUN! Every player is introduced before the game, given equal playing time during the game, and receives an award after every game.
Registration for the 2026 season is now open for boys and girls in 1st-6th grade. Whether your child is new to basketball or looking to build their skills, Upward Basketball is a great place to learn, play, and grow.
How to Get Started

3. Practices begin the week of Monday, February 16
Secure your child’s spot today for just $85 when you register by January 31, 2026. After that, the fee increases to $95 until registration closes on February 7, 2026.
Payment can be made online or in person. Checks should be made to Calvary Baptist.
Saturday, January 10 between 9:00am and 1:00pm
Saturday, January 17 between 9:00am and 1:00pm
Saturday, January 24 between 9:00am and 1:00pm
If you cannot attend any of the scheduled evaluation times, please email upwardbasketball@cbcmidland.org to request an alternate time.
Teams will be announced on or around February 11.
Practices will begin the week of Monday, February 16.
Each team will have one weekly 1-hour practice.
We try to keep practice nights and times the same all season, however there will be occasional exceptions.
Games take place on weekends February 27-28 through April 10-11.
Games will take place Friday evening and throughout the day Saturday.
No games will be played on the weekend of April 3-4.
Join us the evening of Saturday, April 11 for a 1-hour celebration of the season and growth of each player.
